The First West Coast Chapter
Zeta Psi was the first national fraternity to establish a chapter on the West Coast. In 1870, Iota Chapter opened at the University of California, Berkeley and has been continally active to the present. The chapter produced a number of well-known alumni, including U.S. Ambassador George Frederick Reinhardt (1911–1971) and Senator William Knowland (1908–1974).
