This Upsilon Chapter newsletter from 2001 provides updates on life at Zeta Psi's first southern chapter.
The First Southern Chapter
In 1858, Zeta Psi expanded outside of the New England region for the first time. With the support of Delta Chapter and James Graham McNab, Zeta Psi chartered Upsilon Chapter at the University of North Carolina. The chapter grew, gained members, and weathered the Civil War. The chapter was briefly closed in 1868 when the the University of North Carolina shut down due to Reconstruction, but it was restored on March 12, 1885.
